Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to the studio! Whether you’re stopping by for a workshop or joining our creative community as a member, here is everything you need to know about life at The Pottery Studio.
Do you offer kids' classes?
Our studio is primarily 18+ to ensure a focused creative environment. However, we do host occasional workshops for ages 12+—please note that all minors must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.
When will my pottery be ready?
Pottery is a slow process! Please allow 2–4 weeks for your pieces to go through the drying, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing stages. You can track the status of your work anytime by checking our online ClayTracker™.
Do you offer open studio time?
Yes! Experienced potters and current students can book wheel or table time in our studio. We also offer drop-in hours for those with prior experience. Full details on pricing, availability, and our safety policies can be found throughout our website. Read more on our Open Studio Drop-in page.
Do you offer kiln rental space?
We do not offer kiln rental space for outside work at this time as we are a busy teaching studio with a strict firing schedule.
Do you offer memberships?
We do! We offer memberships for experienced potters looking for a consistent creative home. You can find all the details regarding access, pricing, and perks on our Member Page.
What is the "Leave No Trace" policy?
We are a shared studio space. To keep it clean and functional for everyone, you are responsible for fully cleaning your wheel, table, and floor area immediately after each use. Mop your spot, wipe down your surfaces, and dispose of scraps properly.
Can I bring my own clay and glazes?
Tools are available for student use only. Members must provide their own tools, clay, and glazes. Please note that we strictly use Cone 6/ Midfire glazes only in our kilns to ensure firing compatibility and safety.
How do I book studio time?
All studio time must be reserved in advance through our Member Portal. This ensures we don't overcrowd the space and guarantees everyone has access to a wheel or table. Please limit bookings to 4-hour blocks at a time. All members and students must arrive and leave on time!
