Terms & Conditions

By participating in any activities at The Pottery Studio, you agree to follow these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before engaging in our offerings.

1. Pricing

All class, workshop, and party prices include HST via our booking page. Prices are broken down on the booking page to help you understand what you are paying for.

2. Kiln Firing & Disclaimer

We strive to provide a rewarding pottery experience; however, the firing process and natural properties of clay can lead to unexpected results. We cannot guarantee the final outcome of any piece. By using our facilities, you acknowledge that The Pottery Studio and its team are not responsible for damages, cracks, or imperfections occurring during the creation or firing process. We do not offer refunds or discounts for work that does not turn out as expected.

3. Studio Conduct & Inclusivity

  • Guidance: Always follow the instructions provided by our staff.
  • Respect: Treat tools and materials with care. Misuse may result in charges for repair/replacement.
  • Safe Space: We are a women-owned business committed to inclusivity. Harassment, discrimination, or hate speech of any kind will result in immediate removal from the studio without a refund.

4. Safety Guidelines & Attire

Pottery-making involves the use of heavy equipment, high-temperature kilns, and sharp tools. The following attire is mandatory for studio access:

  • Shoes: Closed-toe, non-slip shoes must be worn at all times. Sandals, heels, open-back shoes, and socks are not permitted.
  • Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing that can get messy. Avoid loose sleeves or dangling drawstrings.
  • Accessories: Long hair must be tied back and loose jewelry removed before operating a pottery wheel.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in being asked to leave the session for your own safety.

5. Payments, Refunds, and Rescheduling

  • Payment: Full payment is required at registration to reserve your spot.
  • Refund Policy: All sales are final. Payments are strictly non-refundable.
  • Rescheduling: We do not offer reschedules or transfers to future dates or sessions. If you cannot attend, you may send a friend or family member in your place (Workshops only).
  • Missed Classes: No partial refunds or credits are issued for missed classes.

6. Attendance & Make-ups

  • 4-Week Series: No make-up classes are available. If you miss a session, a technician will trim or clear-glaze your work to keep it on schedule.
  • 6-Week Courses: A courtesy make-up may be requested within the same week only, subject to student wheel availability (6 wheels maximum). We do not allow use of the instructor wheel for make-ups.
  • Late Arrival: Students arriving more than 15 minutes late may be denied entry to ensure the safety of the group.

7. Health, Safety, and Liability

Participants understand that pottery-making carries inherent risks. The Pottery Studio is not liable for injuries, accidents, or damages that may occur during studio activities, including those resulting from a failure to wear the recommended safety attire. By participating, you release The Pottery Studio and its staff from any claims or liabilities related to your time at the studio.

8. Pick-up Policy

Finished pieces are typically ready in 4–6 weeks. We do not send individual notifications. Unclaimed work will be disposed of or donated after 30 days on the pickup shelf.

9. Photography and Privacy

The Pottery Studio may document classes via photo or video for promotional use. By participating, you grant permission for your image to be used. Your personal contact information will remain confidential.

10. Policy Changes

The Pottery Studio reserves the right to update schedules, offerings, and policies at any time.
